• Drinking seven to eight glasses of water is an adequate amount. If your water intake is less then this amount it can lead to dehydration, which can further lead to block pores and form acne. Water will keep your skin beautifully hydrated and also stop it from being oily.
• Watch your diet and consume healthy vitamins, minerals and other supplements. This will help in preventing acne. Add more fruits, vegetables, pulses, salads, dried fruits, nuts, and juices to your regular diet.
• Zinc deficiency has also come out as a massive cause of acne. Increasing the amount of Zinc in your diet can help in preventing acne. Zinc can be found in oysters, red meat, beans & nuts.
• The body produces hormonal steroids when under stress. These steroids target the skin in a disruptive manner and acne flares-up. So taking time out for a bit of yoga or tai chi will help you get relaxed and thus prevent acne.
• Exercise can also help in this matter as it improves stress levels, blood flow, circulation and enabling improved waste management, through the skin pores.
• Sleeping at least seven to eight hours of sleep everyday. While we sleep, our body is rejuvenating and repairing itself.

• Caffeine, sugar and refined carbohydrates can cause your acne to flair up so keep away from them or use them in a slight amount. In few cases, caffeine can increases the levels of stress hormones inside your body this leads to acne breakout.
• To avoid pore-clogging and skin irritations, try avoiding chemical based products these products can clog your skin.
• Don't pick your pimples. Picking your pimples can cause permanent scarring.
• Smoking has also shown to triggers acne. Studies have showed that acne is 62% more prevalent in active smokers than in non-smokers.
